Who decided that hot dogs belong on the street?
Some of the best things are informal.
A sandwich eaten standing up. A plastic chair outside a restaurant. A paper napkin instead of a tablecloth. The problem has never been informality itself. The difference is always in the care behind it.
That was the starting point for our latest Just a Simple Gathering at the Simple Flair Apartment in Milan.
To celebrate the Apartment’s new layout, we invited friends and guests to spend an evening with Edo’s Hot Dogs, the latest format by Yoji Tokuyoshi. A familiar street food, reimagined through the lens of craftsmanship, attention to detail and great ingredients.
The idea felt surprisingly close to how we think about design.
Because thoughtful design is rarely about making things more complicated. More often, it is about elevating the everyday. Taking something ordinary and revealing a different way of looking at it.
As people moved through the newly reconfigured Apartment, conversations unfolded over hot dogs, glasses of wine and second servings. The atmosphere was relaxed, informal and exactly what we hoped it would be.
A reminder that good ideas, like good gatherings, do not need much. Just the right people, the right setting and something worth sharing.
